Constitution Day Celebrations & Inauguration of Social Justice Cell

The Department of Political Science and the Social Justice Cell of MSM College, in collaboration with the Social Justice Department of Alappuzha district, observed Constitution Day on November 26, 2024, at the MSM College Conference Hall.

The event was presided over by the Principal of MSM College, Dr. A. Muhammad Thaha, who delivered the presidential address highlighting the importance of the Constitution. Dr. Rekha Nair R, Head of the Department of Political Science and Coordinator of the Social Justice Cell, welcomed the gathering with a speech focusing on the values and principles of the Constitution. She also emphasized the relevance of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s ideas and the importance of raising awareness among students on this occasion.

The inauguration of the Social Justice Cell, MSM College Unit, was carried out by the District Social Welfare Officer, Mr. Abeen A. O, who also delivered a speech on the significance of Constitution Day. During the event, he distributed uniforms to the Social Justice Cell members.

Advocate O. Harris, former president of the Bar Association, delivered the keynote address on the topic “Indian Constitution and Laws”. Additionally, Dr. Manoj T. R., a Syndicate Member of Kerala University and Head of the History Department, extended his greetings while speaking about the relevance of the Constitution.

The program included the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution by Smt. Advaita R. Prasad, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science. All attendees collectively recited the Preamble, marking a significant moment in the celebration.
