17. Teaching- Learning and Evaluation

  • Lectures are modeled to enthuse Students, the average as well as the intelligent, to cherish the radiance of knowledge.
  •  Notes on specific areas where the students need additional support are published in the department’s web site from where students can access them. Links are provided in the website for the more enthusiastic ones.
  • Students are trained to overcome their lack of initiation by making them take part actively in the discussions irrespective of the validity and merit of the points they raise.
  • Students on a rotational basis are made to present a summation of the points discussed in every lecture.
  • Assignments are given which should be presented as a paper with a view to improving vocabulary, pronunciation and presentation skills.
  • Tests are conducted periodically to give room for evaluation. Evaluation is entrusted with the students themselves after giving them answer keys and explanations.

18. Use of learning resources

Print resources as well as e-resources are effectively employed. Students are enthused to tap the resources to keep abreast of epistemic upheavals.

19. Internal Assessment/Tutorial Work

Internal assessment is done bimonthly by way of assignments and class tests observing transparency in the process.Being the HOD, acts as the convenor for monitoring the efficacy of tutorial work.

20. Innovative Practices

Every PG student is made to introduce to their classmates either a recent literary work or to conduct a debate on some relevant topic every week on a rotational basis.

UG students are given tasks like speaking on a favourite topic of their choice for enhancing their word power and communicative ability.

21. Student support activities

Students with literary inclinations are supported to get their talents refined by exposure to adepts in the respective areas. Technical support is provided for students to post their literary contributions in the student’s nook of the department’s website. Students are encouraged to log on to the website to make the most out of it. Novices to the campus are given counselling on ethical values and social obligations.
